I recall being excited and energetic about the legislative session. I could start the mornings early and stay as late as I can. Now, I find myself working hard during the day and not having enough energy to last past 9pm.
The legislative session is less than 55 days from sine die (final adjournment); yet, my energy is draining. I'm encountering anxiety during the day, and I'm finding myself asleep before Nightline comes on at 10:30pm. Of course, I wake up at any noise and making sure I have another hour to sleep.
Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy the legislative session and listening to debate; however, for some reason, this session has been a little challenging. Could it be that the life of a homeowner, a taxpayer, a parent, and a state employee during a economic downturn has contributed to my anxiety? Possibly. Do I really have anxiety? Or am I just encountering legislativites, where I am just looking forward for the session to adjourn and I can take my vacation.
