I bought my wife a Kindle 2 for her birthday. It was an early birthday present since her birthday is actually a week and a half away.

The reason why I gave it to her was because she'll be leaving back to Hawaii tomorrow for work. When she returned from Hawaii last time, she told me that she noticed another passanger with a Kindle and a new Blackberry Bold.

Considering contract agreements, I figured she could work out the Blackberry Bold thing with her provider, AT&T. So, I decided to do a bit of research of the Kindle and, after looking at reviews and talking to friends, I decided to purchase the Kindle 2.

Something about my wife, she loves to read. She purchases and carries books on her plane trips to read.

Obviously, this would be the perfect gift, right. Right. At the moment she opened her present, her eyes lite up. She was estatic.

Now, she is able to read daily periodicals before we get it, like New York Times. She is also able to download volumes of classics and new literature at a discounted price.

The first night, she purchased tons of books by F. Scott Fitzgerald and L. Frank Baum. She also subscribed to the New York Times and U.S. News and World Report.

My wife, the reader, is absolutely pleased with her birthday present. I did good.
