On our way to Salem from McMinnville, Oregon, we passed the small rural town of Dayton.

At the corner of Main Street and the Southeast Dayton Salem Highway, is this historic church built in 1886 by Jacob Seitter.

At the opposite side of the street sits the small structure of Fort Yamhill.

Dayton, Oregon was founded in 1850.
